LERTIM is based at the Faculty of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at Marseilles, France. It is led by Professor Marius Fieschi, Head of Laboratory, with the support of several assistant professors and PhD students.

The research topics cover representation of medical concepts, medical reasoning and applications; intelligent man-machine
interfaces; artificial intelligence AI applications in the medical field; multimedia, intelligent navigation in information repositories ARIANE project, Web and Intranet applications and the interoperability and integration of software components in health information systems (patient databases and information retrieval).
