Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology
The Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology is the first and only centre dedicated to human toxicology in Switzerland. It was founded with the vision of contributing to the creation of a safer and healthier environment by advancing the science of human toxicology.
The SCAHT is a network of independent scientific professionals who bring insight, skill and experience to critical questions related to human safety. These experts are at the forefront of their fields and, through their up-to-date knowledge, guarantee the highest level of expert service and education.
The SCAHT has four core fields of activity covering
- regulatory toxicology
- applied research
- education and
- third party services
The SCAHT is supported by the Swiss Confederation, namely
- the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH)
- the State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER)
- the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG)
- the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO)
- the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (Swissmedic)
and the universities of Basel, Geneva and Lausanne.
